Burnsville High School Theatre Guild presents 'Mean Girls High School Version'

BHS Theatre Guild kicks off Season 64 with a musical of Queen Bees and frenemies.

Based on the hit 2004 movie “Mean Girls,” this musical adaptation tells a wickedly hilarious and heartfelt story. Audiences can look forward to dynamic dance numbers, unforgettable characters and catchy songs. It’s going to be so fetch!

“Mean Girls High School Version” follows Cady Heron (senior Allie Stuart) from the African savanna to a wild and vicious new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George (senior Kenzie Bunnell). But when Cady and her friends devise a “Revenge Party” to end Regina’s reign, Cady learns the hard way that you can’t cross a Queen Bee without getting stung.

“We're thrilled to bring this fun, yet powerful, story to our community,” said Director Erika Sasseville. “It’s a show with heart that explores themes of identity, friendship, and empathy. Our talented students are bringing incredible energy to it.”

“Mean Girls High School Version” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). Burnsville High School Theatre Guild has been entertaining, educating, and enriching Burnsville and the surrounding communities through the performing arts since 1960.

There is a free preview for senior citizens on Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. Performances run Nov. 7-9 and Nov. 14-16 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. All shows will be held at the Mraz Center for the Performing Arts, located at Burnsville High School, 600 E. Hwy 13 in Burnsville.
